Dr. Vernon Paltoo – President
Dr. Vernon Paltoo was promoted to President of the National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited on 1st January 2013. Since joining National Energy in 2004, he has held several senior positions including: Team Leader, Business Development; Team Leader, Office of the President; Manager, Energy Industry Development; and Vice President, Operations. He has worked on the conceptualization, design, development and promotion of Industrial and Energy Related Projects in Trinidad and Tobago through several State Agencies and Academic Institutions for the past twenty years.
Dr. Paltoo is currently a member of the Board of the NGC CNG Company Limited and the Board of the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago (ECTT). Previously he has served on the Boards of the Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (PETROTRIN) and InvesTT Limited. Dr. Paltoo has also lectured on a part-time basis at the University of the West Indies (UWI) and the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) on multiple aspects of the energy industry. His areas of expertise include Industrial Development, Engineering Design, Energy Economics and Project Economics. He has a B.Sc. in Chemical and Process Engineering and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, both from the University of the West Indies.
Marleen Lord-Lewis –Vice President, Operations
Marleen Lord-Lewis is Vice President, Operations at National Energy. As head of the Operations Group, her portfolio spans the development, management and operation of new industrial estates and marine assets to support new energy-based and downstream industries. These assets include six (6) multi-user petrochemical terminals and a towage fleet of ten (10) marine vessels as well as the Ports of Brighton, La Brea and Galeota.
Previous positions held include Vice President, Business Development at National Energy, Manager of Strategy Development at Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (PETROTRIN) and Director Commercial and Business Development with the Natural Gas Export Task Force, a sub-Committee of the Cabinet of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago where her focus was Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) projects.
Mrs. Lord-Lewis holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Hons) in Chemical Engineering and a MSc. in Production Engineering and Management, both from the University of the West Indies St Augustine, Trinidad. She is a graduate of the Andrews University in Michigan with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and has extensive knowledge in Refinery Economics and Planning.
Mrs Lord-Lewis has over 35 years of experience within the energy sector with extensive technical and leadership training which includes UK Oxford Energy Seminar, Investment Attraction and World Fiscal Systems for Oil & Gas, JMW L Development: Leadership Excellence – A Breakthrough in Performance. Mrs Lord-Lewis has also been trained in Industrial Health and Safety, Refinery and Optimization.
Sheldon Sylvester – Vice President, Finance and Administration (Ag.)
Sheldon Sylvester has over twenty (20) years’ experience in Finance and Accounting in both the manufacturing and energy sectors. He has worked at Phoenix Park Gas Processors for 12 years with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, debt and treasury management. Mr. Sylvester is currently the acting Vice President - Finance & Administration at National Energy. He is the holder of a Master of Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University and holds professional memberships with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago.
Camille Blackman –Manager, Legal and Corporate Secretariat Services/ Company Secretary
Camille Blackman is responsible for managing all legal and corporate secretarial matters within National Energy. Prior to being appointed as Manager, Legal and Corporate Secretariat Services, she held the position of Senior Legal Officer at The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC). Ms. Blackman has also held senior positions at the Office of The Attorney General and the Ministry of National Security. An Attorney-at-Law, she is the holder of an LLB degree from the University of the West Indies and an LEC from Hugh Wooding Law School. She has received extensive training in Project Financing, Negotiation of Oil and Gas Contracts, Project Management and Corporate Governance.
