‘Building Bridges, Connecting the World’ was the theme of the annual Trade & Investment Convention (TIC) held at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya from 8th – 10th July 2015. TIC 2015, one of the largest trade events in the region, brought together 200 exhibitors from 13 countries including CARICOM, Latin America and West Africa.
National Energy participated in the Energy Pavillion alongside the NGC, PPGPL, NGC CNG as well as the Ministry of Energy and Energy Affairs, NP and PETROTRIN. The specific theme of the Energy Pavilion was ‘Bridging Energy to Manufacturing’ which is aligned to National Energy’s ongoing thrust to create linkages between the downstream energy sector and manufacturing in order to increase the overall local participation in the energy industry.
During the 4-day trade event, the size and diversification of the Trinidad and Tobago manufacturing sector was on display with products ranging from cars, labelling, plastics, food products to medical and financial services. The number of companies interested in doing business in Trinidad and Tobago was equally impressive. In particular, the involvement of Latin American companies highlighted the potential for intra-regional trade among participating countries.
In addition to trade discussions, the convention offered another opportunity for reinforcement of the National Energy brand as employees were able to provide information to visitors about the company’s brand. We thank all the National Energy Brand Ambassadors who worked at Energy Pavilion and we look forward to the fruitful relationships and business opportunities which would be derived from this initiative.
