Update on Repairs to Berth 2 Project

 

The Repairs to Berth 2 Project at the Port of Brighton continues to progress towards completion in May 2017.

The project entails the repair of the 307m quay wall using the combi-wall. Overall progress is 79% as at 31 August 2016.

A key component of the project involves the construction of a heavy loading platform (HLP) which will facilitate loadout of bpTT’s Juniper platform in December 2016. The HLP is 100% completed and fenders have been installed in this section of the dock.

Work continues on the berth with installation of piling approximately 90% completed and connections to the existing Berths 3 100% completed. Installation of fascia panels as well as formwork for the main capping beam is also ongoing.

The Berth 2 Repair project is being conducted by international joint venture firm, Soletanche Bachy Cimas who continues to utilize labour from the community of La Brea and environs on the project.
