Since 8th December 2016, the National Energy Explorer has been performing daily crew and cargo transport replenishment jobs between the Port of Galeota and service vessels engaged by Fairfield Nodal to support bpTT’s seismic survey exercise off the east coast of Trinidad. The contract, which is expected to last until mid-March 2017, also includes standby services to ensure the safety of the support vessels and the surrounding area, while seismic surveys are conducted.
These activities are generating revenue for National Energy in the form of daily rates for use of the Explorer. Additionally, the Port of Galeota is earning income via terminal charges from the Explorer as well as the Atlantic Spirit, another fast crew supply vessel being used by Fairfield.
These services are being coordinated by the Operating Assets Department (Commercial and Towage Sections) in conjunction with the Port of Galeota personnel and to date, there have been no major incidents or loss time accidents during the operations.
Based on the planned increase in offshore activity in the coming months, National Energy looks forward to receiving further business of this nature while simultaneously developing alternative business opportunities.
