Dr. Vernon Paltoo – President
Dr. Vernon Paltoo is the President of the National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago. Since joining National Energy in 2004, he has held several senior positions including: Team Leader, Business Development; Manager, Energy Industry Development; and Vice President, Operations. He has worked on the development, implementation and management of Industrial Infrastructure and Energy Related Projects through several State Agencies and Academic Institutions for the past twenty two years.
Dr. Paltoo currently serves on the Boards of the NGC CNG Company Limited, the National Energy Skills Center (NESC) and the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago (ECTT). Previously he has also been a member of the Boards of the Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (Petrotrin) and InvesTT Limited. Dr. Paltoo has lectured on a part-time basis at both the University of the West Indies (UWI) and the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) on multiple aspects of the energy industry. His areas of expertise include Industrial Development, Engineering Design, Energy Economics and Project Economics. He has a B.Sc. in Chemical and Process Engineering and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, both from the University of the West Indies.
Sheldon Sylvester – Vice President, Finance and Administration
Sheldon Sylvester has over twenty (20) years’ experience in Finance and Accounting in both the manufacturing and energy sectors. He has worked at Phoenix Park Gas Processors for 12 years with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, debt and treasury management. Mr. Sylvester is currently the Vice President - Finance & Administration at National Energy. He is the holder of a Master of Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University and holds professional memberships with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago.
Marcia Maynard - Manager, Investment Facilitationl
Marcia Maynard is currently Manager, Investment Facilitation at National Energy. She holds a BSc. Degree in Chemical and Process Engineering and a MSc. Degree in Engineering Management from the University of the West Indies. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and serves as the Vice-Chair of the Member Advisory Council for the Trinidad and Tobago CPA Chapter.
Ms. Maynard is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and serves as a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and as a Senior Member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). She is a member of the Women in Renewable Energy (WIRE) network, an initiative of the Clinton Foundation.
She has worked for most of her career in both the downstream energy and financial services industries.
Camilla Arjoonsingh – Manager, Health Safety Security and Environment
Camilla Arjoonsingh is the Manager of the Health, Safety, Security and Environment Department. Ms. Arjoonsingh has over 20 years of experience in Health, Safety, Security and Environment.
She was formerly employed at Atlantic LNG as an HSE Team Leader and as an HSE Professional at PETROTRIN/TRINMAR Operations. She also previously held the position of Assistant Project Manager at Kaizen Environmental Services.
Ms. Arjoonsingh holds an MBA in Business Management from the Heriot Watt University, an MSc in Environmental Management as well as a BSc in Chemistry and Management from the University of the West Indies. She is NEBOSH certified and a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). She is a graduate of the Crestcom Bullet Proof Manager and John Maxwell 5 levels of Leadership schools.
She represents National Energy on many national HSSE Committees.
Camille Blackman –Manager, Legal and Corporate Secretariat Services/ Company Secretary
Camille Blackman is responsible for managing all legal and corporate secretarial matters within National Energy. Prior to being appointed as Manager, Legal and Corporate Secretariat Services, she held the position of Senior Legal Officer at The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC). Ms. Blackman has also held senior positions at the Office of The Attorney General and the Ministry of National Security. An Attorney-at-Law, she is the holder of an LLB degree from the University of the West Indies and an LEC from Hugh Wooding Law School. She has received extensive training in Project Financing, Negotiation of Oil and Gas Contracts, Project Management and Corporate Governance.
