Dr. Vernon Paltoo – President
Dr. Vernon Paltoo is the President of the National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago. Since joining National Energy in 2004, he has held several senior positions including: Team Leader, Business Development; Manager, Energy Industry Development; and Vice President, Operations. He has worked on the development, implementation and management of Industrial Infrastructure and Energy Related Projects through several State Agencies and Academic Institutions for the past twenty two years.
Dr. Paltoo currently serves on the Boards of the NGC CNG Company Limited, the National Energy Skills Center (NESC) and the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago (ECTT). Previously he has also been a member of the Boards of the Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (Petrotrin) and InvesTT Limited. Dr. Paltoo has lectured on a part-time basis at both the University of the West Indies (UWI) and the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) on multiple aspects of the energy industry. His areas of expertise include Industrial Development, Engineering Design, Energy Economics and Project Economics. He has a B.Sc. in Chemical and Process Engineering and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, both from the University of the West Indies.
Marleen Lord-Lewis –Vice President, Business and Infrastructure Development
Marleen Lord-Lewis is the Vice President, Business and Infrastructure Development at National Energy. As head of the Business and Infrastructure Development Group, her portfolio spans the conceptualization, promotion, development and facilitation of new energy-based industries in Trinidad and Tobago, inclusive of the planning, engineering design and implementation of all associated port, marine and estate infrastructure.
Previous positions held include Vice President Operations, and Vice President, Business Development at National Energy, Manager of Strategy Development at Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited and Team Leader New Business (PETROTRIN) and Director, Commercial and Business Development with the Natural Gas Export Task Force; a sub-Committee of the Cabinet of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago where her focus was Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) projects. She holds to the principle of ‘Safety First” as a pillar of sound operating performance having held positions in process engineering and safety and environmental engineering in her early career.
A qualified engineer, Mrs. Lord-Lewis holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Hons) in Chemical Engineering and an MSc. in Production Engineering and Management, both from the University of the West Indies St. Augustine, Trinidad. She is a graduate of the Andrews University in Michigan with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). She has extensive knowledge in strategic development of downstream industries from natural gas resources, Refinery Economics and Strategic Planning and has presented as well as been a panelist at several prestigious international Energy Conferences such as Gas Tech, CWC World LNG Series Americas Summit and Latin Oil Week.
Mrs. Lord-Lewis has over 37 years of experience within the energy sector with extensive technical and leadership training gained through, inter-alia, participation at UK Oxford Energy Seminar, Investment Attraction and World Fiscal Systems for Oil & Gas, JMW Leadership Development: Leadership Excellence – A Breakthrough in Performance.
Wendy Seow – Vice President, Commercial
Ms. Wendy Seow joined National Energy in December 2006 and held the position of Head, Administration prior to being appointed Manager, Corporate Communication & Administration. She brings to National Energy over 20 years of managerial experience, most of which comes from the energy sector. Ms. Seow holds an MBA from the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business and received her undergraduate degree in Economics from the York University in Toronto, Canada and the Certificate of Practice in Corporate Citizenship from Boston College Centre for Corporate Citizenship. Ms. Seow’s experience spans the areas of supply chain management, project management, general management and corporate citizenship in both private and public sectors.
Sheldon Sylvester – Vice President, Finance and Administration
Sheldon Sylvester has over twenty (20) years’ experience in Finance and Accounting in both the manufacturing and energy sectors. He has worked at Phoenix Park Gas Processors for 12 years with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, debt and treasury management. Mr. Sylvester is currently the Vice President - Finance & Administration at National Energy. He is the holder of a Master of Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University and holds professional memberships with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago.
Camille Blackman –Manager, Legal and Corporate Secretariat Services/ Company Secretary
Camille Blackman is responsible for managing all legal and corporate secretarial matters within National Energy. Prior to being appointed as Manager, Legal and Corporate Secretariat Services, she held the position of Senior Legal Officer at The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC). Ms. Blackman has also held senior positions at the Office of The Attorney General and the Ministry of National Security. An Attorney-at-Law, she is the holder of an LLB degree from the University of the West Indies and an LEC from Hugh Wooding Law School. She has received extensive training in Project Financing, Negotiation of Oil and Gas Contracts, Project Management and Corporate Governance.
