Manager, Fleet Maintenance & Operations

Hadyn Poon is an experienced marine professional with a demonstrated history of service delivery across multiple disciplines associated with the maritime industry. During the span of his career, Hadyn has developed strong professional skills in the areas of Ship Management, Maritime Operations, and Maritime Safety.

Since joining the organisation in February 2024, Hadyn has been tasked with managing the Fleet Maintenance and Operations Department, which provides technical management services for National Energy’s fleet of vessels. He is also responsible for maintaining operational safety and efficiency of the fleet by ensuring all marine procedures, processes, and policies are fit for purpose.

A graduate of the Britannia Royal Naval College (Dartmouth), Hadyn also holds a Master of Science Degree in Maritime Management from the University of Trinidad and Tobago and has successfully managed marine offices within the public and private sectors. Before he transitioned to commercial shipping, Hadyn served 24 years with the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (Coast Guard), retiring with the rank of Commander. He held Command at sea, as well as responsibility for fleet reliability, operational efficiency, and safety at various organisational levels.
