15 Countries; One Solar Assembly Facility

The Caribbean needs to invest over USD8 Billion in solar to meet its energy transition ambitions.

National Energy, in collaboration with Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator (CCSA) and InvesTT, is desirous of identifying potential investors and collaborators for the development and establishment of a Caribbean Solar Assembly facility in Trinidad and Tobago to serve the Caribbean region. The size of the facility and the investment required are negotiable although it is anticipated that the establishment of the facility would cost in the order of USD80 to USD115 Million based on generation capacity.

The ownership of the plant would depend on the level of equity the project developer wishes to retain, notwithstanding the regional interest to participate in the investment. Primarily, the manufacturer/developer is sought for industry knowledge and extra regional market access to fortify the success of the endeavour.
